Anterior Abdominal Region and Pelvis

Combining Connective Tissue Massage and Neuromuscular Therapy

Class Description: We are combining our experiences to unlock the potential function and balance to the Anterior abdominal region and pelvis. Emmett will  be using Neuromuscular Techniques to return normal tonicity to muscle tissue and bring about potential strength to each muscle. Tom will demonstrate connective tissue activation, stressing the global nature of the connective tissue organ. Structural integration and myofascial stretching with some gentle movement will be involved in exploring the connective tissue.  We feel combining these two modalities will create a powerful connection of both fascial and muscular systems to aid in increased function and balance to the torso and pelvic area.

Trager Fundamentals and Resistance and Release Work

Treating the Neck and Jaw

Class Description: Deane Juhan became one of Dr. Milton Trager’s initial students and studied personally with him for 24 for years until his death in 1992. Since 2000 he has been developing his own innovative addition to the Trager Approach, Resistance and Release Work.

Resistance and Release Work is a process of isolating simple movements in order to bring into conscious awareness of the kaleidoscopic interplay of these four operations  and sort out the details of each of them in order to more fully control their coordination.  The manipulations are simple and easy to learn, and astonishingly rapid in their results.

Practitioners of many kinds will find these tools to be a dynamic and useful addition to their own modalities.  Deane Juhan’s students have included massage therapists, yoga instructors, physical therapists, practitioners of Crania-Sacral, Orthobionomy, Feldenkrais, Alexander Technique, various deep-tissue approaches, chiropractic and movement education.
